Movies from the 50 and 60 years that every fashionable woman should watch

Fashion from the 50 years is my favorite inspiration when it comes to clothes. Not only women's clothing, but also accessories and jewelry from those years has delighted me for a long time. Sometimes I would like to move for a while to those years and play the role of one of the characters in my favorite movies. Below is my list of favorite movies from that period with fashionable clothes, accessories and more. I am curious which of the following movies you have watched and which you like best. Be sure to let me know in the comments.

Breakfast at Tiffany's (Breakfast at Tiffany's)

It's probably a classic when it comes to background fashion from 1961. The extremely colorful character of Holly Golightly, played by Audrey Hepburn and beautiful Tiffany jewelry. A black, long dress, characteristic hair up, black gloves and tasteful jewelry are one of my favorite styles in this movie. One day I imitate this stylization on a blog. I promise myself this for a long time. I have probably watched this movie a thousand times and I always have a huge dilemma whether to watch Breakfast at Tiffany's again or maybe Roman Holidays (this movie I also love).

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Funny face

Musical from the year 1957. Starring Audrey Hepburn, who this time played the role of Jo Stockton, a girl who accidentally becomes the new face of magazine covers. Jo's funny metamorphosis, as well as the great acting of Audrey and Fred Astaire will allow you to move to the wonderful world of fashion for almost two hours, and sometimes burst out laughing. The whole is complemented by beautiful Givenchy dresses.

Thief at the hotel (To Catch a Thief)

A brilliant movie directed by Alfred Hitchcock from the year 1955. If you like romance with a hint of detective story in the background, you should watch this movie. Starring Grace Kelly and Cary Grant. What is so great about this movie? Of course, in addition to acting, beautiful costumes play a big role. I have no idea how many times Grace Kelly changed during recording this movie, but certainly many times. Watching this movie you will not know what to admire - a plot, or just costumes.

And God created a woman (Et Dieu ... créa la femme)

The main character is young and beautiful Juliette, in which the figure was played by phenomenal Brigitte Bardot. At the beginning I must say that the lightness with which Brigitte played this character deserves great attention. A little wayward, not yet fully matured, but very girly and hilarious. So in a few words you can describe Juliette, who is often referred to as the mermaid, i.e. the one who tempts her admirers. A character who breaks the hearts of his chosen ones because he doesn't know what he wants to the end. Watch the dance scene of Juliette with great accuracy, which is often mentioned in reference to Brigitte Bardot. The film enriched with beautiful Saint-Tropez scenery is a great proposition for evening relaxation.

Sabrina

This is one of the first movies in which Audrey starred and probably one of the first that I watched with this wonderful actress. Sabrina - a young girl who, after returning from studies in Paris, loves the two brothers with whom she played as a child. Be sure to focus while watching the famous stage - Sabrina's dance around the tennis court. You won't be able to take your eyes off the expressive acting and wonderful dress that Audrey is wearing.

Fashion from the 50 and 60 years is full of elegance. Watching her is a pleasure, I must admit that women had class at the time!

What a shame, I haven't seen any movie from your list - not even "Breakfast"! And this is probably a serious matter. 😀 I am not a fashionable woman, but I like to watch a nice dress. 🙂

Geez, really? In that case, you must make up for it. Make sure you know which movie you liked the most 🙂

I saw "Breakfast ...", "Funny face" (this is probably my favorite from Audrey, because there is also Fred Astair; "Roman holidays" would be the number 1, but as in the case of "Casablanca" - I like happy endings :)). "The thief in the hotel" intrigued me, I have to look 🙂

I'm ashamed to admit, but I didn't watch Casablanca. It's on my list to watch, but first the cinema - now there are 3 good movies and I can't decide which one to watch first 😉

I saw breakfast and God created ... I love styles from these movies - graceful and classy women 🙂 do Audrey have a photo with Madame Tassauds from London?

Oh yes! Although the costumes at Roman Holidays are beautiful too. Audrey itself is a great talent and charm.

I think I am unfashionable and I never pay so much attention to the actresses' attire. But I also like 50 clothes. and 60! Recently, I even bought a dress in this style and I liked it so much that I want more clothes in my wardrobe 😀

Really? I often admire the costumes in movies, especially the older ones 🙂
