I've been hunting for a long time birch water. I wanted to use it as a hairbrush. One day on a beautiful day I came across an Isana sale - this product also fell into the basket. Mindlessly, because I admit that I acted on the spur of the moment. Rather, it does not happen to me that I do not read the composition of cosmetics, but here it was different.
But first about birch water alone. Later I will go to the Isana cosmetics review.
Birch water properties:
- as a body cosmetic
- to drink
- for hair
Birch water, also commonly called birch juice, contains organic acids, immediately absorbable sugar, mineral salts, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, iron, copper, amino acids, vit. from group B.
It's impressive, right?
I will start with the properties of birch water for drinking, because this is the one I know best.
Well, birch water regulates bowel function as well strengthens the body (including immunity). It improves filtration ability (it is recommended for people who have kidney problems). Prevents the formation of kidney stones.
Birch water treatment
We drink birch water for 15-20 days, 2-3 times a day for 1 / 4 glasses. We limit the consumption of meat, alcohol, strong coffee, tea, chocolate, spinach and sorrel during the treatment.
After the treatment, our body is very regenerated - starting from the intestines, up to the kidneys and our general well-being.
What you can prepare yourself at home
- diuretic (pour a tablespoon of leaves with a glass of boiling water, cook for a few minutes. Strain, drink 2 half a glass once a day)
- vitamin extract (Pour ground leaves with boiled water at approx. 50 degrees, leave for 6 hours. Drink green-yellow, bitter drink after draining. The drink contains a lot of vitamin C)
Birch water is recommended for use as a tonic. We wash the mouth 2 times a day.
It also soothes irritations - any rashes and allergies (wipe the affected areas with a cotton swab moistened with birch water.
Fresh donuts can also be used. They have anti-inflammatory effect.
In folk medicine they were used for the treatment of acne, skin whitening and against freckles. I wonder if they would be used to whiten acne discolorations ...
Infusion of fresh, yet sticky birch leaves harvested in early spring helps fight cellulitis.
You can get birch water yourself.
"It is obtained when the buds swell, but before the leaves grow. For this purpose, a trunk or a thick bough of a tree is drilled to a depth of about 10-15 cm, a tube is inserted into the hole and a vessel is put out. During the day, about a liter of juice is obtained, which can be stored in the refrigerator up to several days. In order not to damage the tree, the resulting hole is closed with a special paste or a wooden wedge and fungicide. Such preparations are available in garden stores. Sometimes it is possible to obtain the juice by cutting a branch diagonally about 1 cm in diameter and placing the tip in a hanging bottle. ").
It is recommended to obtain birch water in places far from all kinds of pollution.
Interesting facts - birch water was also used as a natural foot antiperspirant - shoe inserts were cut from the bark to protect the feet from excessive sweating.
Put 100 g dried birch leaves in a dark jar and pour 100 ml 80% alcohol and 100 ml water. Leave for 8-10 days at room temperature. Occasionally, macerates should be shaken. After this time, it must be strained through a thick gauze or coffee filter. Pour birch water into a dark bottle. Use after every head wash. Strengthens hair, gives it fluffiness, softness and elasticity. You can add a few drops of natural lavender, sage or geranium oil to the tincture.
However, if we do not have the possibility of obtaining birch water on our own - we must be tempted to buy products available in the store
Price: 5,66 / 500 ml, in the promotion I paid something about 3 PLN.
Composition: Aqua, Isopropyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Betula Alba Leaf Extract, Betula Alba Juice, Alcohol Denat., Sodium Benzoate, Panthenol, Parfum, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, CI 19140
The first impression that accompanied the opening of the bottle - God, what an alcohol stench! Accustomed to drinking birch water - its smell, sweet taste and properties, I was surprised by this product.
The manufacturer's beautiful assurances that after using the hair become nourished and full of shine is unfortunately only a marketing ploy.
The downside is also the packaging - a large, heavy bottle does not make it easier for us to use the product, which is why I recommend using my method, i.e. pouring the product into a bottle with a pump or an atomizer.
The worst effect is that it caused me to get greasy hair faster, which I must admit - I just didn't expect it.
Use in two ways:
- rub the product into the scalp, do not rinse
- we use as a conditioner - we spray the hair
I use the product for over a month and have not noticed any effect, although I use it regularly. I have the impression that it does nothing.
- product size
- no effects about which the producer writes
- terrible smell
