I have been using Beauty Blender regularly for several years. This little sponge has totally changed my life and my makeup. I ordered an egg for makeup at the same time as I bought the first packaging BB cream Dr G. One of YouTuberek recommended applying this cream with Beauty Blender. It was a great idea, the makeup egg works great. By applying BB Beauty Blender cream we get the perfect melting of the cream with the skin. This effect is not obtained when applying BB cream with your fingers or a brush. For me, Beauty Blender is a big hit and although I was tempted by Blend It, this sponge did not work for me and I am not going to experiment on this topic anymore.
Almost everyone knows the makeup sponge. Thanks to this gadget we get the effect of perfectly smooth skin, and the foundation or BB cream is not so visible on the skin (there is no mask effect). Before using the Beauty Blender, soak it in water for a few minutes (if you are doing it for the first time, you will certainly be impressed by how it increases its volume), squeeze out excess water. The sponge prepared in this way is ready for use.
At first, it seemed to me that Beauty Blender's color does not matter, but it turned out to be not true. If you are interested in this topic, and also wondering what color sponge is the best, check out this post.
I tested many ways to wash Beauty Blender and two methods work best - one option is to wash the sponge with Isana oil, which is available in Rossmann. In addition to the oil, I also wash the sponge with antibacterial soap in the bar. The second method is to wash the sponge with oil (e.g. Kneipp), and then with antibacterial soap in the bar. It all depends on the product used. I noticed that Dr G BB cream washes off worse than the natural BB cream I am currently using - So Bio (I showed it here).
The sponge should be washed gently, especially if you have long nails (be careful not to make holes with your nails when washing, I tested). If you notice that you have damaged your Beauty Blender, it is better to replace it, because the gaps are a breeding ground for bacteria.
It is very important to use Beauty Blender to dry it properly. It is best to dry it on a paper towel or Beauty Blender stand so that it has an air supply on each side. Thanks to this, you will not be afraid of mold and other harmful factors.
Answering the question from the title - you do not need to replace the Beauty Blender every 3 months. The sponge can withstand 6 months, but ATTENTION! Only with proper and regular washing and drying. In a word - if you take care of your sponges, they will serve you for a longer amount of time than recommended by the manufacturer.
