How to write an e-mail with a proposal of cooperation to a company / agency?

When we don't have a very popular blog yet, we decide to write cooperation emails to companies. Later, brands or agencies write themselves with the offer of cooperation, but you need to be patient and, above all, create valuable content on the blog or ensure the popularity of the Instagram profile. In this article you will learn how to write an e-mail with a proposal of cooperation to the company or agency that supports the brand.

I often get questions from you about how an e-mail should be sent to a company for cooperation. It is worth knowing because the email you sent may be the reason that a given brand will work with you.

Look for contact for the person responsible for influence marketing

Before you decide to write to a given brand, check if there is a special e-mail that will be sent to this type of application. If you send an email to [Email protected], and there is a dedicated email address, be aware that he may never reach the person responsible for influence marketing. Usually in every company (at least it should be like that) there is a designated person who works with Influencers. It's best if your email goes directly to her. Direct contact is very easy to find on LinkedIn, for example. However, if there is an e-mail on the website to collaborate with, do not bother them because they may remember you negatively.

What should you write in an e-mail with an offer of cooperation?

If you decide to write an e-mail with an offer of cooperation, remember that company X probably gets dozens (or even hundreds) of such proposals a day. You have to stand out and something can be a well-structured email.

how to establish cooperation with the influencer brand

First of all, your email MUST be concise. Nobody has time to read your life story and your blog. There must be specific in the email. It is worth starting with a SHORT description of the profile - its topics, number of followers, coverage and information about the community involved. Also include in the email the reason you are writing. This may seem obvious, but it's a good idea to write a campaign idea. Many Girls do not, and instead send a message saying "Maybe cooperation" or "Do you work with influencers?". I get such messages on my clients' profiles, and I even got to my blog's profile (someone probably thought we were a brand). Give up this type of message, unless you want someone to "cut out" for good morning.

In the email, be sure to write what you can offer. As I wrote earlier, the outline of the campaign is a very important thing, but it is also important what results you can generate (e.g. 1000 go to the website or 200 purchases using the discount code). Base these types of predictions based on previous collaborations.

It is good that you present information on what products from the brand you are writing to use for the campaign. This makes it much easier and saves time. As a result, the brand will know that this is not a random email sent on the basis of "copy / paste" to 30 from various companies.

Make sure to include statistics for your blog or Instagram profile. It is very important that they are Google Analytics statistics (in the case of a blog) and IG demographics screens (countries, cities and information on the age of your recipients). Add all this as an attachment to an email. Of course, remember to add clickable links to the profile (if you provide the name of the IG profile, also link it as here: @dpblogpl. Remember to submit yours real statistics and don't mess around, because it's very easy to check e.g. in a tool Social Blade.

I hope that thanks to this article you already know what a good e-mail with a proposal of cooperation to a company or agency should look like. I wish you good luck in getting cool cooperation with brands.

You raise a very interesting topic about writing an official email. This is often overlooked even in training related to running the office. I sometimes receive emails from high-ranking people in the company, often without a topic, or so complex that it's hard to guess what's going on. When it comes to cooperation, emails are often specific. Maybe except phrases like "Hello", which somehow do not offend me. As I write another email to a person I know I use this return. For me, it has such a free overtones, bringing some slack.

Thank you for your comment. I am on both sides of influence marketing and I often see mistakes made by Influencers. I decided that Blogger's Guide will play an educational role so that there are as few errors as possible in the blogosphere and more 😉

    Very interesting and useful entry.

Thank you 🙂 I hope you will use my advice.

As a blogger who has been running a blog for a year, do I have to break and write to a cosmetics company and propose cooperation?

    • dpblogpl dpblogpl 13 May 2019 / 10: 24

Good luck! Let me know if I managed to establish cooperation 🙂

Valuable tips! It is also important to be familiar with the topic that the company is talking about in order to make some good introduction to the cooperation proposal. And shooting blindly at everyone with the same formula misses the goal 🙂

A few days ago, to one of the brands I run on Instagram, the girl who sent a bulk email to various companies. This is only a bloat ... I rejected it from the machine, because if you didn't even want to send an email to each company separately, I expect poor quality cooperation.

Let's not forget about pseudo-influencers who are just thinking how to get cosmetics here for free. And if not cosmetics, even wipes for wiping dust .. 😀

Very helpful entry. I've been blogging for a few years and admit that I never proposed cooperation myself. Rather, brands are appealing to me, but I will gladly try this solution! And you interested me in this LinkedIn 😉

Very interestingly written text and helpful especially at the beginning of my professional career.

I am very happy that my article is helpful for you. Oh, I may surprise you, but bloggers and influencers with longer experience also have a problem writing a good cooperation proposal 😉

A great idea for an entry - very useful for me, because although I know the basics, still proposing cooperation to a company is a difficult topic for me. Sometimes I just simply do not speak stupidly as a brand, because I always think "if they would like to cooperate with me, they would speak to themselves" 😉 And I just don't want to be seen as one of the pseudo bloggers whose 90% of the content is product reviews for free ... Maybe you can tell how the agencies or people dealing with marketing of a given company respond to emails with a proposal of cooperation from bloggers?

    • dpblogpl dpblogpl 6 April 2019 / 11: 11

It all depends on the brand you are writing to. Each company has a different influence marketing policy.

There is nothing to be ashamed of - you can confidently offer cooperation to the brand if you have any nice idea to show the product 🙂

My experience comes from a slightly different barrel, because rather B2B and software, but I am also looking for potential partners for guest posting. In addition to the rightly listed here points - statistics or communication method - I look at the quality of content on a potential blog. Based on the content - high quality, original, general, superficial - it's easy to assess whether cooperation makes sense and what to expect.

    • dpblogpl dpblogpl 5 April 2019 / 16: 09

Very good point. When cooperating with bloggers and influencers, I also carefully analyze their channels. Some look only at the number of followers on Instagram or hearts under the pictures, and I look at the content of posts and comments under it. Followers and hearts under the pictures can be dishonestly obtained in various ways.

I work in a PR agency and work with influencers. What you say is true ... every day I get dozens of completely unsuspecting cooperation proposals (I run cosmetic profiles of the comics available in Rossmann). The messages are without statistics, without any idea. I answer such nonsense with an answer template ... if the influencer did not want to devote time to write a message, I do not want to devote time to reply. At this time, I can do something different, and there are a lot of responsibilities while working in the agency.

I see you have the same insights as me. Unfortunately, such situations occur more often, and this is due to various factors - one of them is the ignorance of the Influencers. There are few people who share their knowledge (just like me). How do Influencers know how to, for example, construct an email to a company or agency, since nobody is talking about it.

That is why I created Blogger's Guide and sometimes write about obvious (for us) but not obvious for others. My goal is to educate Influencers so that they don't make mistakes that I made at the beginning of my blog or Instagram profile.
