How to build a coherent Instagram profile?

If you found our blog, you probably want to learn more about how to achieve success on IG and how to build a coherent profile on Instagram. For sure, you dream about a minimum of dozens of followers on your profile every day, and you would like to engage in cool collaboration using Instagram. If you have the impression that you are reading about yourself - you are in the right place. There have already been several posts on the blog about Instagram, including How to use hashtags in 2018 year or How to add nice featured reports on Insta with our project icons for download on these and other posts about the IG from the series Blogger's guide especially pay attention.

Consistency of the Instagram profile

Many of you have certainly heard about the consistency of your Instagram profile as a recipe for success at IG. Is it really there? How to build a consistent feed? What is this consistency on the profile anyway? I will answer these and other questions in today's post.

If you are looking for a specific issue on Instagram, for example, exercises for a flat stomach, you will find 2 profile (let's call it profile X and profile Y). Think about which profile will convince you more - the one where photos from holidays, photos of a furry friend of the family will be published, or the one where you will find videos with examples of exercises and tips on how to get a slim figure without too much commitment (I'm joking, something unfortunately does not exist) . You can see that a consistent Instagram profile won.

Highlight the topics of your profile on IG

When running your Instagram profile, think about what 3 areas you would like to navigate. With us it is a Parisian style that can be pulled into fashion (#parisvibes #classyoutfit #madamechic), moments (#minimalism #momentsconnoiseur #slowlife) and flat lays. So we have 3 areas in which we specialize (in addition, we have described these categories with several hashtags, which also conquer the profile’s reach) and this makes our profile thematically coherent. We have also added information about the vegetable diet, so that people who eat meat do not feel disappointed that we do not show vegetable dishes on the profile.

Of course, you can also distinguish 3 main areas and 2 additional if your interests are very broad. Of course, it's not about closing yourself in on 3 categories and never touching on other topics in your life, but isolating the specific topics of your profile will allow you to remain consistent. It's just like on the blog you distinguish categories at the top of the menu, do the same on your profile on IG.

Another consistency is graphic consistency. For a long time we have been using the same filter on Instagram (we do not process photos in additional graphics programs) and approximate settings of contrast or brightness. Thanks to this, our feed is even more consistent than when we used different IG filters and virtually every photo was a separate entity.

Why is a coherent Instagram profile so important ?!

If you have already distinguished categories and subcategories on your profile, and also determined what filter you will use (if you do not succeed at the beginning, do not worry. Rome was not built in a day), now you can start working and build your profile again.

how to plan instagram posts

As I mentioned in the previous chapter about how to build consistency on Instagram, this consistency is very important. Thanks to consistency and highlighted, specific categories, your Followers will know what to look for on your profile and therefore will follow you. Of course, it's always nice to surprise your Followers (as was the case with us styling in a completely different style, than I have shown before), but everything must happen within the categories you specify.

Think about your feed

The task for today - think about it and write in a comment what 2-3 categories are on your profile the main topics you discuss. You can also decide on one main category, for example cooking and list subcategories such as: breakfasts, vegetable dishes or healthy sweets. However, if you are a Travel Blogger, your main category will of course be travel, and the food subcategory (you must have eaten something delicious in every place you visit), places you've visited that you would particularly like to share with your Observers, and culture, i.e. prevailing customs in a given place.

I hope this post will help you build a consistent Instagram profile that you can share with your Followers. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the comment so that others will be able to see them and maybe they will get a quick answer to your question.

I like watching coherent instagrams. I use the same filter on all photos, but I don't take care of everything exactly, because it would be boring after a while. I am here for the first time and I really liked the blog, I will stay for a long time 🙂

Hey! It's great that you came to us and stay! 🙂 I also love consistent profiles, but we also don't always have 100% consistency in filters. Consistency is definitely in the theme of our profile and we publish properly 2-3 types of pictures (styling, flat lay and food / architecture). Everything is kept in one climate 🙂 Provide your profile name, I will gladly look at you 🙂

I like such coherent Instagrams very much but on the other hand, all the pictures are very similar to each other and it can bore someone in the long run. I myself have total chaos on my Insta and maybe that's why I don't have more followers. But I can't take pictures in the same style all the time, I like to experiment;)

You are also right that most profiles are the same. That is why we do not use Lightroom, which is so glorified by some bloggers. We process all photos using filters and settings offered by IG. There are more and more observers, so it's probably not too bad 😉
