Misuse of cosmetics - does this also apply to you?

Once, our grandmothers used one cream for the whole body and surprisingly they had beautiful, well-groomed skin. Today, using too much cosmetics is becoming more common.
The stores are full of creams (each for a different body part) or other products of this type. I have the impression that if I chase "trends" I would have to have at least face creams and body lotions with 4.

body care
When young girls write to me, I immediately ask what cosmetics they currently use. I grab my head when I get an answer. The list of products is really long.
My observations show that the abuse of cosmetics largely affects people who fight acne or are teenagers. I am not saying, however, that this phenomenon does not apply to others.
Until recently, I was alone in this group. My cabinets were bursting at the seams and I was wondering why my skin looks worse? I use good cosmetics to help me!
There is a moment in life that we begin to be interested in our appearance. As a child, I didn't pay attention to what I looked like and what I was wearing. During adolescence it started to matter a lot to me.
Then in my area they opened the first Rossmann. I remember today that when I entered the store, I thought, "If it's heaven, I want to die." I've never seen that amount of cosmetics before.
When I visit drugstores, I often see girls with meshes stuffed to the brim. I honestly admit that it is a bit scary for me. Why would someone 5 use the same nail polish or 3 hair conditioner?
Unfortunately, this view is becoming more common. Consumerism is getting younger and younger. Even children no longer have sneakers, only conversy or iPad instead of a tablet.
Returning, however, to the topic of abuse of cosmetics - excessive care is not good for our skin. Of course, I'm not talking about suddenly throwing away 90% cosmetics and peeling once a month, but it's worth limiting yourself. My face only got better when I started using several cosmetics regularly and I stopped experimenting with new products.
Today, I pass by next promotion or cosmetic news. One day I would definitely stop, I would even buy a given product.
Summarizing: You really don't need a few face creams, body lotions or hair conditioners. Just one, proven. The one you like. Limit the amount of cosmetics usedand your skin will thank you for that.

I manage to use common sense because I don't open several cosmetics at once, but I have one body lotion, one day cream, etc. After all, if I put it all together, the quantity is still large ... It's difficult for me too refrain from trying new products - I do not buy everything that comes on the market, but it is difficult for me to buy the same product again and use the same thing again if so many things tempt ... I have recently noticed that I am starting to come back to proven cosmetics, especially if it's about facial care.

Over time, when you find products that you will love, you will start unintentionally returning to them. You will not even know when it will happen 🙂

Once I had a phase that I bought a lot and often e.g. body lotion three bottles because I could not decide on one fragrance. These were my beginnings in the blogosphere. Over time came self-control, I do not say because I still have a lot to wear but I make progress, which makes me happy :)

    • Avatar [Email protected] 23 August 2015 / 16: 41

The beginnings of blogging are difficult, probably everyone goes through a period that wants to have everything, there is cooperation and begins to sink in cosmetics.

I also went through such a stage in my life 🙂

I have a few checked cosmetics, when I see sales in the store, I don't go to this store, thinking that maybe something will catch my eye and I will buy it. My purchases are usually fast, I only go in for what I need. I have not been painting for two months, I have been using homemade tonic from chamomile and tea tree oil, and when I go outside I use sunblock 🙂

  4. Avatar Angela Pe 22 August 2015 / 19: 50

Fast definitely not for me. Minimalism reigns here 🙂

  5. Avatar Ania Abakercja 22 August 2015 / 18: 28

I always go out full, because I buy in store as is the promotion 😉

I like cosmetics, I have a lot of them, but I don't abuse them because I'm too lazy for that 😉

  6. Avatar Angelika and Monika Candy Pandas 21 August 2015 / 14: 56

We are definitely not in danger of "overdosing" cosmetics 🙂 We have several of our favorites and only sporadically exchange them for better models 🙂

  7. Avatar Yumi blogs 20 August 2015 / 14: 56

I do not consider myself a person who abuses cosmetics. Yes, sometimes I buy something new, which I did not use to check, but if I do not come, I usually play Santa and drop it - it's my mother, my friend because I want to check and somehow it goes this way. It looks different only when it comes to hair conditioners - if I don't come along - I leave it because it is useful as an emergency shaving gel 😉

  8. Avatar sandraxblog 20 August 2015 / 14: 07

I'm always struck by videos on youtube 'my dressing table' - when will these girls use this drawer, four baskets and some other box of coloring? I can't finish one blush ... 😉 I didn't think so much about caring ... 🙂

  9. Avatar Magdalena Pinska 20 August 2015 / 09: 12

I often wonder about creams for a thousand zlotys, what do they have? my mother used "simple" or inexpensive creams and at the age of 80 she had almost no wrinkles! genes are one thing but less chemistry is another 🙂

    • Avatar [Email protected] 20 August 2015 / 09: 37

It depends. Sometimes it's just marketing, and sometimes such products contain really expensive ingredients (or their larger quantity, higher concentration than in drugstore creams) so the price of the product goes up significantly.

  10. Avatar Amanda Niedrich 20 August 2015 / 07: 35

I have another problem ... I should use more of them. Body lotion after each bath? Well, although it would be good ... but I'm not doing it because? Because I don't want to, I don't like waiting to be absorbed, I can't find one that smells intensely ... hmm

    • Avatar [Email protected] 20 August 2015 / 09: 07

      Cocoa isana smells intensely 🙂
I switched completely to oils. Now I use carrot, which I combine with sunflower. The only lotion I use is Eveline 4D.

  11. Avatar Ines RdP 20 August 2015 / 05: 30

creams / gels / tonics / face serum ehhh I have a whole collection, I think I got addicted, because when I don't use any cream I am obsessed with the fact that this part of the face is something wrong with it, horror o

    • Avatar [Email protected] 20 August 2015 / 05: 40

I have so with Bandi cream that if I don't use it one day, something is popping up. If you've been fighting acne for a long time, it's normal that you're afraid that your skin will get worse.

  12. Avatar Katarzyna Balbierz - MaaMaa BaalBinkaa 19 August 2015 / 21: 33

I probably have a thousand cosmetics for my feet 😉 My horse. I have to take care of my feet especially because my heels dry quickly and it looks ugly. The rest is ok. No skin problems and a minimum amount of cosmetics 😉

    • Avatar [Email protected] 20 August 2015 / 05: 42

Everyone seems to have an obsession with care. I really like body lotions, in general body moisturizing is my obsession 😛

  13. Avatar Minimal 19 August 2015 / 20: 55

I have long thought that less is better and I try to use only one cosmetic from a given category at a time. The exception is hair, mine are demanding and do not like too much monotony, so I usually use 2-3 masks for a change; )

  14. Avatar FamousBlog 19 August 2015 / 18: 43

You're right, I also noticed that the more the worse!

  15. Avatar anneblush 19 August 2015 / 11: 50

I agree, especially when you read the compositions comprehensively, it turns out that there is nothing to expect a miracle, if the "new super active cream" has as much good as the "old inactive" 🙂

  16. Avatar red cup 19 August 2015 / 11: 10

I like to have a few shower gels that I use depending on the mood ... of course one faster other later but I use the principle: I try to consistently try to sink in pain.

    • Avatar [Email protected] 19 August 2015 / 14: 22

I usually sell it, because if it doesn't really work for me, I don't want to bother with sell: P

  17. Avatar Paulina P. 19 August 2015 / 10: 18

I don't think it applies to me 🙂

  18. Avatar Jasminum 19 August 2015 / 09: 56

When it comes to face and body care, I strongly support this theory! However, with conscious hair care, we need 2-3, plus some mask and oil. But there's nothing crazy szal

  19. Avatar Kamila JK 19 August 2015 / 08: 48

I have a lot of cosmetics 😀 I had almost 80 shower gels, but I'm getting out of quantity, I don't buy new ones (what I get), now I have 50. I think I hit a hundred with soaps.
    Minimalism is not for me

  21. Avatar Sweetlike cinnamon 18 August 2015 / 21: 50

in most cases I buy new cosmetics after using the previous ones but in the case of hairlessness I can sometimes go crazy (I try to control myself :))

  22. Avatar crazy 18 August 2015 / 21: 00

An entry that gives many people food for thought :))

  23. Avatar sypaaa 18 August 2015 / 19: 18

I have also been thinking about it lately, and this is what caused my complexion problems. Whenever new pimples and discolorations appeared, I was already flying to Rossmann for a mask, cream, gel and a million others "because the previous ones don't work". Later I went to my head, and above all to a dermatologist. From now on I use only one face cream and lotion - nothing more. The complexion calmed down a little, discolorations heal slowly. 😉

  24. Avatar Green Carousel 18 August 2015 / 18: 45

Recently, I have just done such a selection of cosmetics and I do not regret it. I also try to run my inner bottom design - I will not buy a new cream until it has used up, etc. 🙂

    I greet warmly

  25. Avatar Kingsley Blog 18 August 2015 / 18: 30

It's not like buying 3 hair conditioners as victims of consumerism. We don't eat pierogi day by day, sometimes our hair or skin also needs a change. We don't use it at the same time. Of course, there are people who simultaneously pack different creams under the eyes of 3, but this is an abstract situation. Minimalism is good, but diversity cannot be called abuse. 😉

    • Avatar Agata Szydłowska 18 August 2015 / 18: 43

That's it, I agree in 100% 🙂 e.g. I use a different cream for my face every day, because my skin quickly gets used to the products, and so I avoid this problem and the creams work as they should (the dermatologist himself advised me), yes I have with shampoos myself, prolonged use of one shampoo causes scalp irritation, using alternately other shampoos eliminates this problem.

    • Avatar [Email protected] 18 August 2015 / 19: 43

Unfortunately, some are exaggerating. Looking at the amount of cosmetics that girls sometimes show on blogs (especially after promotions at Rossmann) I wonder if one person can use so many cosmetics. I felt sorry for the place :))))

  26. Avatar Natasza Miszczuk 18 August 2015 / 18: 11

And there ... I have a lot of cosmetics, but mostly I use them once in a while, and every day I have 2-5 (for body, face, hair counting together).

  27. Avatar MyLady world 18 August 2015 / 17: 40

I don't understand such girls myself :) I have one cream for a long time, which I know is good for me and a tonic or mask is just homemade 🙂

  28. Avatar Milena M. 18 August 2015 / 17: 40

Hair manicures certainly would not agree with the theory that 1 conditioner is enough.

  29. Avatar Monika N 18 August 2015 / 17: 02

I like to use as little cosmetics as possible, because if I have a lot of them I won't be able to use them anyway and will expire soon 😛 Especially face cosmetics 🙂

    • Avatar [Email protected] 18 August 2015 / 19: 45

It's a shame about the money. Once, one vlogger made a video about how much cosmetics she bought and did not manage to use. As she calculated the amount spent for it all, she was shocked herself; P

  30. Avatar 111 Strudel 18 August 2015 / 16: 50

What you write about is true, but it is often difficult to resist shopping. So many times I wanted to go to cosmetic minimalism ... but every time there is some great novelty and I have to have it; P

  31. Avatar Marzena T. 18 August 2015 / 16: 24

I sometimes have something to buy on the promotion (I can be fooled by marketing tricks), but in general I don't have 5 gels, 5 creams, carcasses etc. ... I have more cosmetics than as a teenager, but I want to be moderate. What too much is not healthy.
I use cosmetics on a regular basis because it gives me full control not only over expenses but over how individual cosmetics work

    • Avatar [Email protected] 18 August 2015 / 17: 04

Sometimes you can buy something to spare. Stocks are not bad at all. Provided that we buy wisely and do not wake up with several of the same products. I always have facelles and cotton pads in stock.

I don't succumb to marketing tricks, I'm rather immune to advertising.

  32. Avatar Cornflower variations 18 August 2015 / 16: 06

I also sometimes don't understand girls who have a huge amount of cosmetics. I have a few checked ones and I use them 😉
