How to start writing a blog and where to start?

Many of you have probably thought about running a blog / channel on social media or YouTube, doing 'something' in general. When I talk to people, on average every 2 person wanted to start a blog at least once. How many of these people are starting a blog? A handful, maybe even less.

Unfortunately, it is often the case that people who want to start a blog are not aware of how to go about it. I hope this post will help you gather and act.

How to start writing a blog

How to start a blog?

Many people have a passion, something they are interested in, something they like. However, not everyone can talk about it, and even less can write about it. I have always approached my blog not as an unpleasant obligation, but as an investment in the future. Of course, you can delete a blog, but some trace of it will always be on the web. Today, blog is our place, which we create every day - by writing posts or social media activity. There are days like today that I sit down at the computer and just write. There are days that I have nothing interesting to write.
When one of my friends mentioned that she had the idea of starting a blog, we immediately started to help. We love talking about blogging, our mistakes we've made, and warning others not to make them. I also talked about this in February on Insta live on our Instagram profile (see our profile if you don't know it yet: click).
If you want to start blogging, write 30 posts. This is a good foundation that will allow you to move and not lose enthusiasm. The beginnings are difficult, let's face it. If you don't have someone to help you with all this, you will probably be overwhelmed by technical issues such as finding / modifying a template or setting widgets. Not to mention the newsletter or subscription configuration. If you have no idea what I'm talking about - better read Blogger's guidebefore you publish your first post.
In one of Tomek Tomczyk's books (known as Kominek or Jason Hunt) I read very wise words about the fact that many blogs end their activity on the first post. It's true, although I won't say - it's good for us, because we know ... less competition (joke).

Running a blog by force - you can feel it!

Do you think that every blogger runs a blog with passion? There are various reasons - Janusze blogging count on a freelance, others are blogging, because they started and regret to end them, although they have nothing interesting to say anymore, and others run a blog because they like it. We are in the last group, although it is not always colorful. Sometimes there is no strength, sometimes there is no motivation, and sometimes there is simply no inspiration.
Several times I came across a girl's blog (a few months apart), which was run by force. What was the reason? I don't know, that would have to ask the author. Unfortunately, the blog is not run with the heart just to feel. It is difficult to determine, but if you come across such a blog, you will immediately understand what I meant.

What did the blog give us and why will we keep blogging for many years?

The blog has been our bargaining chip more than once. Whether it's looking for a job, in college, or in contact with other people. A blog is something that we manage to interest most people we've ever spoken to. People are just curious about why we blog and very often also how it brings benefits (unfortunately, people still think about bloggers as people who lie and smell, get #darylosu from companies and wonder how to get alcohol from a reunion of bloggers).
We never talk about the amounts we earn from blogging. If someone delves into the subject, then we operate the range, because it's easier this way. People like to be interested in other people's lives and enter their wallet. I will never understand it because I don't look into my wallet, but if you prefer.

Nevertheless, a blog is a way of life for us. We like what we do and others appreciate it which for us is a great motivation to continue. And most importantly - we are not standing still, we are constantly looking for ways to attract new readers - whether through interesting topics on the blog or social media activities (for just 4 months our Instagram profile has grown at an extraordinary pace!).

Comments on the blog

Comments on the blog
When running a blog, you probably count on some feedback from your readers (comments on the blog). Unfortunately, this is not always the case. Recently doing a survey about our blog, I was surprised how many people indicated that they never comment on posts. Is it worth paying so much attention to the number of comments? Or maybe only the blog Author pays so much attention to this?

The number of comments equals the number of blog views

The number of comments does not translate in any way into the number of views of the blog. In most cases, the number of views is much higher than the comments. People rarely comment on posts because they either have nothing to say about the topic or they just don't want to.
There used to be a very important number of comments under a post for me, today I don't pay so much attention to her. Which does not mean that I do not like when someone comments - quite the opposite. I really like reading readers' comments and responding to them. Comments are one form of communication with Readers. So let's reply to comments that require this answer.

Is it worth letting anonymous comment?

For many years I thought that thanks to the possibility of commenting by anonymous we will have more comments. I have always explained it to myself that not everyone has to have a Google account or any other account, and will want to intelligently comment on the post. Unfortunately, it was different. In our case, anonymous comments often translated into hate, which was rarely supported by any reasonable argument.

The golden rule - if you have something wise to say - talk, if not - keep quiet.

In addition, there were also comments written by emissaries of various companies in a cheap way to promote their services or products. Although the free advertisement was mostly deleted - at some point it just became bothersome and began to take too much time.
We have opted out of this option for some time, and spam and anonymous hatred have ended. Valuable comments began to appear from people who are not ashamed to sign their statements. For now, we have peace of mind with this topic.

Comment - a simple way to self-promote your blog

It may surprise you, but the comment is a very good self-promotion of your blog. Of course, I do not mean comments like "cool blog + link to your blog" or "Super post, look at my blog click". Such comments are immediately removed from us, so there is no point in bothering to leave them.
I mean sharing on other blogs. Taking part in discussions, writing smart things, showing interest in a topic can make this comment intrigue and someone will want to see what else wise you have to say on your blog. The golden rule - if you have something wise to say, say it, if not - keep quiet. And stick to it, and the comments "cool blog, click" better forgive yourself. You certainly won't interest anyone with such comments, but rather upset you 😉

How to link in a blog comment (blogspot)

Not everyone knows that you can paste a clickable link in a comment. It is very simple. All you have to do is paste text
In the place of the "link" paste the address together with http: // in the place of the "text" paste the name to the link, e.g. a post about healthy eating
An example link will look like this:
Personal development
