What does remote work look like in Social Media

You are very interested in my professional work, that's why I decided to write about what my day looks like working in the social media industry (note: I've been working in this profession for 5 years - I deal with Facebook and Instagram profiles as well as influence marketing for premium brands from the fashion and fashion sectors beauty). In this article you will learn about remote work in Social Media. If you have any questions about working in this industry, ask them in the comments.

Work related to social media (remote work in Social Media) is actually an 24 / 24 work. If you see packages where someone will take care of your profile at certain times (e.g. 9-17 as in the case of most agencies), think about cooperation with someone who will take care of your profile as it should. I can't imagine operating a brand's profile only at certain times and then leaving it alone (at the thought of it with goose bumps). That is why I offer profile support from A to Z to each of my clients. Over the years when I have been working in the profession, I have developed such a model of cooperation. It suits both me and my clients who do not have to worry about their Facebook or Instagram profile.

Wake up and phone in hand

I will not cheat that after waking up I do not check what happened overnight on my clients' profiles and blog. This is one of the most important activities during the day, because it is also often the moment to "put out fires" after a night. It's also the moment when I answer all the comments that were written while I was sleeping.

Depending on the client, I publish posts in the morning for some, and in the evening for some. I determine all this on the basis of statistics and observations of a given profile. It happens that Instagram says one thing and observations something different. In the case of one of my clients, Instagram shows that most people browse the profile in the evening, while my observations show that more engagement is after the morning publication than in the evening. In a word - don't trust the statistics blindly, just test and observe.

And if we're already at the publications, my system is to create (monthly) post schedules, which are, however, very flexible. It often happens that I have a fast for a given day, and that day is my client's Press Day. It is obvious that I will then publish the event coverage, not the schedule post.

Care for social media profiles during the day

During the day I check every profile about every half hour / hour, of course I also have notifications set up, so I can react quickly if a comment appears, e.g. on Instagram. This is important because time is important in social media. There is no place for slow people.

Keeping the brand's social profile, you need to remember about activity on other accounts. Of course, I can't imagine posting comments "a beautiful profile, check our new collection", but every day I leave comments whether I leave hearts under the photos of people I observe as a given profile and people who are potential customers (they are in the target group of a given brand ). Remember the limits, otherwise IG will block your account.

What happens to profiles in the evening and at night?

Working in the media is a demanding job. Of course, everyone has a private life and my clients understand this, although I can't imagine not responding to a comment or private message in the evening (I have already mentioned it above - I deal with comprehensive service of profiles in social media).

Every day before bedtime, I check every profile I manage so that I can go to sleep peacefully and not leave anything for the next day (I have the impression that I am sleeping worse hahaha). I respond to comments and private messages that have appeared since the last profile check.

How many profiles in SM can be run at once?

You have to answer this question yourself - it all depends on how much time you want to spend on work and how much you want to have from that income. Personally, I can't imagine running more than 3 profiles. For me it is the absolute maximum to reconcile work and private life. Of course, you can keep more profiles if you can - the decision is yours. For Instagram, you can have up to 5 profiles logged in to the application. I always laugh that Instagram has set a limit for how many people manage profiles.
