The best humidifier - Philips HU4803 / 01

The autumn-winter period (heating season) is a murder for our skin, hair, as well as our nose and throat. Dry air causes drying of the skin and hair - that's why during this period our hair may look a little worse. Of course, a moisturizing conditioner can be a salvation, but an air humidifier will also help.

We are huge fans of humidifiers. The previous humidifier became less and less effective, in addition it was noisy. After many weeks of searching for a good humidifier, we decided on the Philips HU4803 / 01 humidifier. We were looking for a humidifier that can be used for larger areas (this can be used for surfaces around 25 m2), will be quiet and harmless to animals (ultrasonic humidifiers are not animal friendly, especially rabbits).

The appearance of the humidifier was also important to us. We ordered our humidifier on Amazon, because it was not yet available in Poland. Its price, however, is much higher than when ordering on Amazon.

The humidifier we have has a Nanocloud evaporation system, thanks to which in the last phase we receive clean and properly moisturized air. If, like me during the heating season, you wake up with a stuffy nose, a feeling of dry throat is a sign that it is worth investing in an air humidifier.

Why is the Philips HU4803 / 01 humidifier the best?

The Nanocloud system and the humidifier itself have other advantages. First of all, the evaporative humidifier does not change the air temperature in the house (some humidifiers [steam] heat the water so that the temperature in the house is higher), and they also do not generate sediment on nearby furniture (unfortunately, ultrasonic humidifiers have it). Another plus is the built-in hygrometer.

The computer in the humidifier is programmed so as not to exceed the appropriate humidity (60%). The minimum air humidity in the house that is beneficial for us is 40%. You can set the humidification you want (40,50,60%) or set the auto program that will control the moisture level and turn the humidifier on and off accordingly.

There is a window at the front of the humidifier that shows the amount of water in the tank. If the device runs out of water during use - the red diode (droplet) will light up, and we will also be informed by a sound signal.

5 humidifier modes

  • auto mode - turns on and off, controls the level of moisture
  • night mode - very quiet. Turns on only when moisture is falling, only one LED is lit - speed
  • 1 mode - low speed, quiet, ideal during the day
  • 2 mode - average speed, quite loud
  • 3 mode - high speed, loudest

If we leave the house, we do not have to turn off the humidifier. We can set its operation for a specific number of hours - 1,4 or 8 h. In addition, we can also set the speed.

The humidifier has a filter that needs to be changed every month (depending on the frequency of use). Every about a week, with very frequent use, soak the filter in a vinegar and water solution, and also wash the water tank with the same solution. If I'm already at the water tank - it is worth noting that it is up to 2-liter. I pour filtered water into the tank, thanks to which limescale does not settle so quickly.

Hello, help please clean the filter. I am unlucky because first I left the water tank for the weekend and the filter became moldy to me, now I have a 2 noe weeks after each night I pour out the water and leave the filter pulled out and it still has a strange smell like mustiness. How to properly care for this part?

Soak it in vinegar for an hour, it should help. In addition, it is worth leaving the humidifier open every approx. 2 days, so that bacteria do not multiply inside 🙂

oh good but it doesn't look like a rubbish bin? I have this Oscar stadler Black, in the living room it looks like just a speaker or something, I recommend it because I have been going for a year and everything is ok

It never occurred to me that it looked like a trash can. I honestly admit that I have more confidence in the Philips brand. It has never let me down 🙂

I have been using the stud for exactly 2 years and 10 days, suddenly it stopped producing steam and it cannot be digested - in a word, good Chinese style. The warranty is no longer valid, which is why I also bought a Philips now

Our both humidifiers are still working and they are fine. Tfu, tfu not to be scared 😉

And can you add oil in case of a child's illness?

    • Avatar [Email protected] 15 November 2016 / 17: 14

No, we do not pour oils into this humidifier. For oils, I recommend fireplaces for fragrance oils, of course, out of reach of children.

Hello, would you recommend this humidifier to the children's room? I am seriously thinking about buying this humidifier mainly for children, but I hesitate to be tempted by the ultrasonic device despite the fact that we have a dog, because I would love to have the option of a warm mist :) As if I hope that the dog's ears will not fall off :) greetings

    • Avatar [Email protected] 3 November 2016 / 20: 40

We have two the same humidifiers - one in the living room, the other in the bedroom. I can't imagine my life without them because the air is very dry. For a while we didn't have a humidifier in the bedroom because there were problems with the availability of the filter and I immediately felt the difference. I woke up with a stuffy nose. It's really nothing nice.

If you have a pet, ultrasonic humidifiers are not recommended. The warm mist you are also talking about is not that great at all, because with warm the room heats up quickly and the atmosphere is like in tropical forests 😉 I definitely recommend the one with the cold mist 🙂

I am very happy with this humidifier, but the final decision is yours 🙂

As for Euro stores .... I went in search of a humidifier. I come in, I got the Lord of service and I ask if he can provide me with professional service, what does he say that he is the most because he is a customer service specialist with 20 years of experience. OKAY. I thought that he would answer all the bothering questions. So let's start. Question No. 1 - Do you sell evapuration humidifiers? , and here it is, a surprising answer, or rather a question this time directed at me: -what is it to serve you? Szooook !!!! 20 years of experience and gostek ask me what a humidifier should do for me. That `s nothing. It sometimes happens after what time I went again to the same facility in search of a hygrometer and imagine that two sellers did not know very well what a hygrometer is and what it is used for, and one tried to save myself, that I could look on the Euro store website because they are out of stock at the moment, and they were right next to the shelf filled with thermometers, weather stations and hygrometers. There is nothing like professional help 🙂

    • Avatar [Email protected] 5 January 2016 / 22: 08

We generally bypass this store, because we have seen more than once that in this store you can only count on yourself.

That's why I'm not too surprised at what you wrote. It is sad that the service is incompetent destroying the opinion about this store.

Generally, we know from experience that in Euro Rtv I only buy online, because sometimes they have competitive prices. There is nothing to count on stationary stores 😉

I wonder why no one will ask where and for what amount you can buy a filter that needs to be replaced every month ??

    • Avatar Baltasar Gabka 3 January 2016 / 23: 29

I found info so I will write to facilitate the decision of others - the filter is an additional cost of 50 PLN (to be bought in Euro), however, it needs to be replaced not after a month, but according to the manufacturer after 3.

    • Avatar [Email protected] 4 January 2016 / 06: 27

in the English manual there is info that the filter needs to be changed every month (I suspect that in everyday use these 3 months you write about would be too long), and soak it in vinegar every week. I wrote to Philips because it also intrigued me. As soon as I get an answer, I will complete the information.

When writing the post, neither the humidifier nor the filters were available in Euro. Only recently have they introduced him to Poland.

    • Avatar [Email protected] 3 January 2016 / 17: 19

Please, I'm happy. We currently have two such humidifiers - one in the bedroom and the other in the living room.

Very nice tescik. Recently, I was at the stage of looking for a suitable humidifier for the living room with an area of 25m2, but I was worried whether it would be suitable, the more so that the whole apartment has underfloor heating, and as you know the heat rises evenly across the entire surface. I directed many questions, even to Philips Poland, and no one was able to assure me of the effectiveness of its destination. So on a trial I bought a much cheaper HB AW1010DW humidifier, the difference is in the control and lack of a hygrometer, but the principle of operation and the more the filters are exactly the same.
After prolonged use, I will provide feedback.

    • Avatar [Email protected] 23 December 2015 / 13: 12

Our opinion is also on the Philips website, or at least it should be, unless they have removed it 🙂

To be honest I don't know about floor heating. We live in old buildings, we have standard radiators (old type).
I was very interested in the hygrometer, because thanks to it you can control the level of moisture (it should not be too low or too high. The best is between 40-60%).

Let me know when you will have a ready opinion on your humidifier - I will read it with pleasure 🙂

I have to get my humidifier out of the closet, dry air always bones my complexion.

    • Avatar [Email protected] 10 December 2015 / 12: 13

It comes to us all the time. At high speed after vacuuming, because then the moisture level drops very much (even when vacuuming with the window open!).

  10. Avatar Oh Angelika 8 December 2015 / 22: 00

    I haven't heard of such a miracle 🙂

    • Avatar [Email protected] 9 December 2015 / 07: 50

He just came out to Poland, so you had the right not to hear about him 🙂

  11. Avatar Justine 8 December 2015 / 20: 00

It could be useful, especially now 🙂

    • Avatar [Email protected] 9 December 2015 / 07: 50

Yes, definitely the autumn-winter period is not friendly to our skin.

  12. Avatar Sailing 8 December 2015 / 18: 06

It would be great at home. 🙂

    • Avatar [Email protected] 8 December 2015 / 17: 55

I recommend, from what I've seen it is already available in Poland 🙂
