Silken tofu is much more silky (smooth) than tofu, which you can find in almost every store. The second difference is the price. Silken tofu is a little more expensive than usual. This product is intended mainly for desserts, but you know what? In some cases, it's not worth overpaying, because it's enough good blender and the texture of the desserts will be the same. I bought this type of tofu once and I don't think I would buy it again. I don't often make desserts based on this product, and my beloved tofurnik can be made from plain (I recommend Lutner tofu, which, unlike some, doesn't taste like paper).
