In search of a good yoga mat

rubber mat
When practicing yoga, the most important element is a good mat. There are cheaper, more expensive mats made of PVC, rubber ... you can really get lost in it all. I asked you for help on Instagram (click), because I didn't know what thickness to choose. Today I come to help choosing a good yoga mat, because it is not as easy as it seems.
When I started my apprenticeship I did not think too much about the mat and chose the first better one in the store, which was described as "yoga mat". It was a mistake, or rather money spent for nothing. Already in the first class, when I proudly walked with my yoga mat in my hand, it turned out that she was hopeless. Unfortunately, when buying I did not check whether it is non-slip.
I stopped going to group classes, but I still practice yoga at home. It is a great form of relaxation for me, as well as a way to keep figure and feel good. It does not matter if you practice yoga at home or in group classes - you need to have a good mat on which you will feel stable.

A good mat is the basis of yoga practice. Thanks to it, we will avoid the risk of injury while performing asanas.

I started looking and browsing the internet until I finally decided to buy a rubber mat
YOGA MAT Eco Pro 4,0mm, 185cm x 60cm , which allows me to remain stable even on hot days. The mat on both sides has the same good grip.
The mat is suitable for relaxing yoga, in the case of dynamic yoga practice you have to choose a different model. The Yoga Mat Eco Pro mat is made of 100% natural rubber. It is free of chemicals and allergens. Its structure ensures excellent adhesion even in the case of excessive sweating of hands or feet.
The only thing that can annoy at the beginning is the fact that everything sticks to the mat. This is not surprising in the case of ecological mats, for which no means to prevent static electricity were used. Fortunately, after each washing the mat this phenomenon decreases.
A good mat is a purchase for years, so you should add and buy a mat that is of good quality. You can read about how to start practicing yoga here.

I bought a rubber mat a few months ago. I am delighted with her. Hands and feet stick very well, which is especially valuable when performing a dog's asana with the head down and its various variations. I don't have to try to keep my hands and feet, just concentrate calmly on the correctness of the exercise. Completely different exercise comfort, compared to other mats I have had so far. I highly recommend this mat.

It is true! This mat is really great. It is not suitable for energetic yoga, but I practice Iyengar yoga. And you?

What do you mean exactly that this is not a dynamic yoga mat? Do you mean its thickness? I am asking because I am thinking about this mat, but I hesitate between your version (4mm) and the thinner 1,3mm 🙂

The manufacturer does not recommend it for dynamic yoga (I asked about it when buying it). This mat is recommended for more relaxing yoga. Why? I have no idea, but I received such information before buying a mat. I am practicing yoga for beginners with Małgorzata Mostowska (YouTube) and with this version of yoga the mat works perfectly 😀

I also did not think that choosing a mat is so difficult. I gained useful information here because I think more and more about yoga as a way to wind down after a hard and frustrating day.

There are so many possibilities. Until I started looking, the choice seemed quite simple to me.

I would not expect that choosing a yoga mat can be so difficult. I usually just used such a sleeping mat, so that's probably why I got less attention to it 🙂

Do yoga You do practice relaxation yoga, don't you? Otherwise, using such a mat may result in injury. Be careful about! 🙂

  6. With this post you mobilized me to finally buy a new mat. I made the purchase very similarly ... the first better ..., which turned out not to be the better. 🙂

I haven't found a good mat so far, but the effect gives talk. I have Nike already badly pulled down and now I wonder whether to buy the same again (because it falls out best in tests, but not perfect) or to experiment with the model they are persuading me to do.

I stated that if I am to invest in a mat for years, the rubber one will be perfect 🙂
