I've been involved in meditation for over a year. I don't meditate regularly, but when I need it most. However, daily meditation or even several times a day brings the most benefits. I haven't reached this level yet, maybe I will never reach it.
What does meditation give me?
Before I started meditating I was terribly restless. Anything, even a small thing, could upset me. This is the effect of what my life looked like earlier - stress has accompanied me for many years. Today I look at certain things from a distance. I still stress too many things, but in most cases it's stress that disappears quickly. Thanks to meditation, I can get rid of negative emotions faster and be easier to calm down, and thus - I can look at something 'sober eye' faster. I rarely make hasty decisions that, as I have long noticed, did not lead me to anything good.
I feel grateful after each meditation session. Grateful for what surrounds me. All worries go away and I feel inner peace. All muscle tension also goes away.
How to start meditating?
The beginnings can be difficult. At first I had problems concentrating and turning off the sounds that surrounded me. I couldn't gather my thoughts, I had the impression that my brain was scrolling through words and situations all the time. Over time, I managed to control it, although it wasn't really easy.
At first, meditating may give you the impression that you cannot fully concentrate. Relax, it will get better over time.
It wasn't until the 3 or 4 meditation sessions that I began to feel the difference. The external sounds that surround me do not distract me, I focus on myself to fully relax. Is it worth meditating with the other half?
I admit that I have never had the opportunity to meditate with Piotr, but he never said no. It just always comes out that it has more important things to do. Is it worth meditating with someone at all? Many couples practice meditation together. They even say that it strengthens their relationship.
We will definitely try this type of meditation someday.
When is the best time to meditate?
There are supporters of morning meditation, but there are also those who prefer evening meditation. You can actually meditate at any time of the day. It looks different for me. Sometimes I practice morning meditation (which I highly recommend because it gives you positive thinking for the whole day). I often meditate in the afternoon and even just before bedtime. It all depends on my day plan. I usually meditate once a day, but it may change soon.
